Pegeen Fitzgerald (Margaret Worrall) was born on November 24, 1904 in Norcatur, Kansas. Pegeen did not began radio until 1940 when she worked with a program called "Here's Looking at You" on The New York World's Fair (the second most expensive American world's fair of all time). She and her husband, Ed, broadcast from their apartment near New York’s Central Park for 43 years. Their program reached an audience of 2 million and The New York Times said that she "pioneered the at-home radio format.” Pegeen and her husband were married for 52 year and she was the eldest of seven siblings. Unfortunately, she died due to breast cancer at her home in Manhattan, New York on January 30, 1989. She is survived by four sisters and a brother.
