Yimei Guo is the managing Director and the Global Head of Research Technology at Morgan Stanley. Guo is a key force in the company, she used AI in three critical ways, the way she transforms Morgan Stanley in technology is by Digital Transformation, Innovation, and she is a champion of Diversity. The way she tackled a problem and made it out to carry on its full benefits is she found a huge amount of data in the financial industry and that data that would serve value to both the company and the clients. A way that AI has contributed to the workforce was by improving client experience, and increasing organizational efficiency. A way they are integrating AI is with the search experience, they are using machine learning and natural language processing, this way time is naturally less used and saves more time, they've also implemented a virtual assistant which can provide answers and questions that are usually asked and it would provide answers to those questions. Guo also learned many key things during the experience, she has learned and gotten many opportunities through using AI, she had used meaningful data from unstructured data and would generate business signals. One of the ways to be successful in AI, is to know more about Business domain knowledge. The products that are off-the shelf its important that the products are open, and they can be re-trainable with other specific data. Guo has many advice for the next generation of women, and her advice is to stay curious! She says that curiosity is a way to understand the world around you, and to starting new projects. She has you have to be open to explore new cultures, listening to diverse views, and taking new approaches.
