1953 - Today

By: Nj | Date Added:

Karen Bass is an U.S. Representative, she is a politician who's a representative of California's 37th congressional district, and she has held the role since 2013. Bass is a part of the Democratic party. Previously, from 2011 to 2013, Bass has represented the 33rd congressional district. Karen Bass was re-elected and had served the 37th congressional district in the year of 2018. Committee wise, Bass serves on theH ouse Committee on Foreign Affairs, and she holds the chair of the Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organizations. Another committee Bass is a part of is the House Judiciary Committee. Bass partakes in many leadership roles, one other part she holds a chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. Bass had two important issues that she was passionate about solving, which was America's foster care system as well as fixing the United States relationship with Africa. Bass and the co-chair representative have created the Congressional Caucus on Foster Youth. I find her inspiring, she focuses on two issues dearly and then she creates many programs alongside it, to help progress solutions to the problems.
