Kelley O'Hara

1988 - Today

By: Avery Gilliam | Date Added:

A member of “Utah Royals FC”, Kelley O’Hara has been a tough and determined defender for the United States Women’s National Soccer Team. O’Hara played forward earlier in her career, eventually growing into a powerful defender, providing a larger range of skills across the field. O’Hara has competed in the World Cup twice, and her first professional team, the Women’s Professional Soccer FC Gold Pride, won a league championship. After her first team folded O’Hara was recruited as a midfielder by the Boston Breakers for two seasons, before transitioning into New Jersey’s Sky Blue. O’Hara finally joined Utah Royals FC, and is preparing to compete in her third world cup. In the fall of 2018, O’Hara’s career was briefly disrupted by an ankle issue that required surgery, forcing her removal from the final games in Europe. While physical injuries can be dangerous to athletic careers, Kelley O’Hara’s strength, resilience, and maturity allowed her to recover and return to the field with stamina and skill.
