Emma Watson

Date Added:

Emma Watson is an activist, actor, and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador. Outside of her appearances on the silver screen, she has made a name for herself as a vocal defender of women's rights. Her work on the HeForShe campaign earned her a place on the TIME 100 in 2015, with her inaugural speech at the UN General Assembly being viewed 3.2 million times. Within three days of her speech, 100,000 men had signed up to show their support for HeForShe. Emma currently supports more than thirty organisations in the equality and women’s rights movements in the UK and globally – from shelters for women and children that have experienced domestic abuse to sports programs empowering girls. Emma is also part of the TIME'S UP Entertainment Steering Committee and brought the movement to the UK. In 2019 Watson was appointed to the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council along with 30 other prominent equal rights activists.
