“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” Marianne Williamson is an author who is a publisher of 10 books, which includes four of New York Times #1 bestsellers. She is also the founder of Project Angel Food and the co-founder of the Peace Alliance, which is the grass roots campaign which supports legislation to establish the United States Department of Peace. She also serves on the board of directors of RESULTS, which is a movement to end world poverty and local. Marianne is a force behind one of the seminars which is called SISTER GIANT: Rousing the Sleeping Giant of American Womanhood. In that seminar, there was gathered three hundred women and they went to watch three films, and learn from scholarly experts about what they have seen. The movies that they had watched was The Burning Times, which was a film about hundreds of thousands of women who were burned as witches during the Inquisition. The second film watched, was the "Iron Jawed Angels" which was a film about the early American suffragettes. The third film was about Abigail's Disney's documentary, "Pray the Devil Back to Hell" which was a documentary about an Liberian women who had ended a civil war that was raging in their country during the 1990's. The purpose was not just to understand the women long ago, or the ones living far away, but to better further understand the history and the courage that they've taken without half the resources that we have now. The purpose behind Sister Giant is to increase the contributions of those who are activists/ or in a candidate position, Sister Giant also provided women with the information that helps them to become political candidates. Marianne Williamson had also provided us her candidacy for president in the 2020 presidential elections, she will be running as a democrat. Williamson is an author, activist, self-help guru, and she is a friend of Oprah.
