1950 - Today

Date Added:

“I have been a part of the trans and Latina community for many years, and I have seen the devastation immigration has had on my community and the way detention centers have traumatized my community,” ISA NOYOLA is an immigrant activist and the director of programs at the Transgender Law Center. She fights long and hard to unveil the inhumane and disturbing conditions transgender people face when they enter immigration facilities. She has initiated an investigation that resulted in a 70 page report outlining the sexual abuse, physical, and psychological trauma faced by transgender detainees. She understands that fighting fr marriage rights is important but she also understands that being a trans person of color is more dangerous.
