She is a South-African entrepreneur that has developed an innovative mobile app that helps the visually impaired identify objects and situations and lead more independent lives. With subscriptions to her app, Specular, visually impaired people can take photos of the object/situation that needs to be identified and ask a sighted person to answer with a reply via a text or voice message. BeSpecular is Cowper's first entrepreneurial endeavour. She studied Entrepreneurship Management at Stanford University where she met her international team of co-founders.
