Nyaradzo Mashayamombe (Nyari), born 1980, is a Zimbabwean women's and human rights activist. She is also a campaigner, media entrepreneur, and part time afro-jazz singer and poet. Nyari grew up in a small rural town in Zimbabwe called Shurugwi. She was the youngest of right siblings who attended the Women's University in Africa, where she holds a Master of Science degree in Developemnt Studies. With her many endeavors, Nyari has established herself as a prominent activist and individual. Mashayamombe is the executive director of Tag A Life International Trust, an advocacy organization that promotes young women and girl's rights in Zimbabwe. With this organization, Nyari was able to provide state funded basic education for more than 500,000 who were shut out of school due to failure to pay school fees. She has also organized awareness campaigns particularly in rural areas where cases of child marriage and incest relationships are rampant. Nyari is also the founder and CEO of Identities Media Holdings. This company produces content that is featured on the only national television station in Zimbabwe (ZBC TV) and on social media. Nyrai hosts her talk show, on ZBCTV and on social media where she talks about a variety of issues and concepts. Furthermore, Nyari is a board member of CIVICUS Alliance, an organization that is dedicated to strengthening citizen action and civil society. Nyari has released three studio albums where she sings the message of Africa, social issues, love, gospel, accountability and governance. All in all, Nyari's contributions haven't gone unnoticed, she was recognized as one of the Ten Outstanding Young People in Zimbabwe in the category of "Contribution to Children, World Peace, and Human Rights.". In 2015 she was awarded the Community Champion of the Year honors through the Zimbabwe International Women Awards. Today, she strongly continues her advocacy and work towards betterment in Zimbabwe.
